Greetings,
Our names are Melika Khajeh and Sophia Spencer, and we are the current co-chairs of the Queen’s Female Leadership in Politics (QFLIP) organization at Queen’s University in Kingston, Ontario. We are excited to see your interest in QFLIP and welcome you to our page.
QFLIP’s founding mandate is to inspire and empower young women, providing them with the skills and tools necessary to pursue a career in politics. Since its forming in 2015, QFLIP has grown to become an influential conference across Canada’s student community, addressing the current underrepresentation of women in politics.
This year, our goal is to expand QFLIP into a larger network - including students, professionals, and allies, who have the desire to be part of these necessary conversations regarding representations. As leaders, we seek to provide a non-partisan and inclusive space for students to engage with discussions of gender-equity in politics and decision-making more broadly.
If you’re interested in joining our movement, please contact our team for more information. Between becoming a member of our executive team, engaging with us during volunteer or community outreach initiatives, joining us for workshops, or attending our conference in 2021 as a delegate, there are endless opportunities to become a member of our community. We hope to see you soon!
Sincerely,
Melika Khajeh & Sophia Spencer
